Map 15 - Town Forest
Rating Comments: Harvard's oldest conservation land, unfortunately divided by the creation of Rte 2. Three relatively easy loops, offering up to a mile of trail options on a modest size parcel, mostly through white pine, and mixed hardwood forest. Some gentle hills keep it interesting. Wide trail, good for walking the dog or a woodland run. The western secondary trail which goes behind Village Nursery School suffers from highway noise, but allows one to cross over Rte 2 on Poor Farm Road to connect with the northern section a short distance away (See Kaufmann map for trail details.) Also just across Poor Farm Road onto Ohlin Lane to the Ohlin trail for a dramatic change of scenery is an opportunity to extend the walk. Easy.
