Rating Comments: Access and connectivity, that combined with a variety of terrain and habitats makes the so-called Bare Hill Wildlife Sanctuary, combined with Bowers Springs the perfect place to go for outdoor recreation regardless of season. Popular with the dog-walking crowd for obvious reasons - they can get plenty of exercise and go for a swim. There are fields, vestiges of an old apple orchard, variable grades to get the heart rate going, deep pine woods, There are two large parking areas, one on Bolton Road, the other on Flanagan Road just over the line in Bolton. If you are interested in a very long walk, you could follow these trails into the Bolton portion, take a trail that crosses Bare Hill Road in Bolton to the vast Vaughn Hills trails. This network of trails offers over 11 miles of trail possibilities. The Vaughn Hills are really special and worth the trip. Moderate.
